My husband says he doesn't love me anymore...?

and he says he has felt this way for a very long time. Since before we were even married and had our three children. He says we are not compatible and he if he gave me all the reasons why he doesn't want to be with me it would hurt me more. He says he is still physically attracted to me but that he just doesn't love me anymore. How is that possible for him to say after being together 16 years and married 9 of those years he doesn't love me? He said he felt this way before we got married. I feel like there is something else he won't tell me. I just doesn't make any sense. He can't be that good of a faker, I know he loves me. I don't know what to do!!?? I asked him to work on it with me, for our three children, he doesn't act like he wants to. He said he will go to counseling, but I think he wants to go to help me understand why he doesn' t want to be with me, not so we can stay together. Can anyone help me????
