Quick movie question please help?

the hero lives on earth and it is the year that the sun is gonna explode so the hero gets on the space ships and make their way through the nearest planet in the galaxy sierra. Due to the severe atmospheric pressure only a handful of survivors survive and they go to the heart of town to find a place to co-exist yet the treaty fails as the inhabitants(aliens) wants them exiled. The rest of the movie is about how the humans win the war and surviving the lurching surprises. How is it and would will smith be good in this movie?
