Describe the effect that heating the water has on the proteins of the microbes?

Heating the water, and then adding a vial of the microbes' proteins into the water, can cause the proteins to denature, thus, allowing subsequent tests, e.g. electrophoresis, to be performed on the denatured proteins, which now consist of separate amino acids and/or other smaller structures.
