How could someone who said they love u every min of the day just leave u ?

hey i was going out with this great guy. we always were texting each other every min of the day 1 month in to the relationship he told me he loved me. he use to tell me everyday how much he loved me and how beautiful i was he never did anything to hurt me and then he just left me last sunday he just stopped talking to me. he told me that he needs to fix things in hes life befor he can move on with me. he told me its not me its him and that he really does want to be with me. he wants me to wai for him. I dont know what to do. should i wait for him? what should i do?
